On May 22, Roland Gillet appeared on LCI Midi to comment on Bernard Arnault's (CEO of LVMH) statements before the Senate regarding public aid to businesses, which you can watch in full here.
Roland Gillet recalls that responding to American customs duties is a competency of the European Commission, but the European Union lacks coordination in trade negotiations, mainly due to the variety of products exchanged between member states and the United States, their relative market shares, and their different commercial imperatives. It is in this context that Bernard Arnault is attempting to adapt to the microeconomic negotiations conducted by the Trump administration in order to continue developing his activities in the United States.
